Privacy policy
Last updatedThis policy explains what happens with your data when you visit www.perfecttower2.com and the wiki at wiki.perfecttower2.com.
In short: this website uses necessary cookies when you log in to your Fire Sword account. It shows no consent banner. We count visits anonymously with our own analytics. What you enter in our tools stays in your browser. The wiki counts visits the same anonymous way and uses cookies only where its features need them, for example to keep you logged in. If you edit the wiki, your edits are public under your username.
Who is responsible
Fire Sword Studios GmbH, Bergmillergasse 4, 1140 Vienna, Austria. Email: contact@fs-studios.com. More company details are in the imprint.
Hosting and server logs
This website and the wiki run on our own server, located in a data center in the EU.
When you open a page, your browser automatically sends technical data to our server. The server records it in its logs:
- your IP address,
- the date and time of the request,
- the page or file requested (URL),
- your browser and operating system (user agent).
We need this data to deliver the website and to keep it secure, for example to detect attacks and errors. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in a working, secure website (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). We keep these logs only as long as we need them for this purpose, then we delete them.
Anonymous statistics
We count visits with Umami, an analytics tool that we run ourselves at analytics.fs-studios.com on our own server. No data goes to a third party.
- Umami sets no cookies and does not store anything on your device.
- Umami does not store your IP address. To tell visits apart, it creates an anonymous session ID from a hash of your IP address and browser details combined with a secret value that changes regularly, so visits cannot be linked over a longer time.
- It records the pages you view, which links you use on our link page (/links/), the website you came from (referrer), your browser, operating system, device type, screen size, language and approximate location (country, and where available region and city). The location is worked out from your IP address at the time of the visit; the IP address itself is not stored.
We use these statistics to see which pages are useful and to improve the website. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in anonymous visitor statistics (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). You can block the analytics script with any content blocker; the website works the same without it.
We keep the statistics as long as we need them to improve the website. Encrypted backups of the statistics database are stored in the EU and kept for up to 18 months.
Data stored in your browser
On this website, our tools save your work, for example blueprints and settings, only in your browser’s local storage. We also remember your theme choice (dark or light) there. None of this is sent to us. You can delete it at any time by clearing this website’s data in your browser.
Storing this data is necessary for features you use, so it needs no consent.
Your Fire Sword account on this website
You can log in with your Fire Sword account to see your profile and linked game services at /profile/. Sign-in takes place on auth.fs-studios.com; this website receives your account information from our own account service. Your passwords and authenticator secrets stay in the sign-in system. Full account settings, including your optional public profile picture, verified email changes, security controls and data exports, are available at www.fs-studios.com/account.
The account service uses three necessary cookies limited to www.perfecttower2.com:
| Cookie | Purpose | Lifetime |
|---|---|---|
__Host-tpt2_account_login |
Connects the login you started to your browser | 10 minutes |
__Host-tpt2_account_sid |
Keeps you logged in; only a hash of the random session identifier is stored | Until logout, at most 24 hours without activity and 14 days in total |
__Host-tpt2_account_hint |
Contains only “1”, so anonymous visits avoid account requests | Same as the session |
The cookies are sent only over encrypted connections and are not shared with www.fs-studios.com. They are necessary for the login you request and are not used for tracking or advertising ( 165(3) TKG 2021). Account information is processed to provide the account functions you request (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR). Our account privacy notice explains the profile picture, email confirmation storage, sign-in and security-history retention, exports and encrypted backups. Self-service account deletion is not enabled; contact contact@fs-studios.com to exercise your rights.
Fonts, images and game data
All fonts, images and videos on this website come from our own server. We do not load fonts or scripts from other companies. The tools load game data files from gamescdn.fs-studios.com, which is also our own server; the same server logs apply there.
Steam widget
On the home page you can show Steam’s live store widget. It loads only after you click the button. Once it loads, Valve Corporation (USA), which runs Steam, receives your IP address and browser details and may set cookies. This means data is transferred to the USA. The legal basis is your consent, given by clicking the button (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). Valve is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, so the transfer to the USA is based on the European Commission’s adequacy decision for certified companies (Art. 45 GDPR). You can check the certification at dataprivacyframework.gov. Valve’s privacy policy applies to the widget.
The wiki
The wiki at wiki.perfecttower2.com is written by players and by us. The server logs described above apply to it as well, and it counts visits with the same anonymous statistics as this website. On the wiki, Umami records the page address without the part after the “?”, so search terms and similar details are not sent. The wiki loads fonts, images and scripts only from our own servers.
Cookies and local storage
You can read the wiki without an account. For its features, the wiki uses cookies and your browser’s local storage:
- Display settings: if you change the display settings without logging in, for example dark or light mode, the text size or page previews, the wiki remembers your choice in a cookie or in local storage. When you are logged in, it saves them in your account.
- Speed: the wiki keeps parts of its program code in your browser’s local storage so pages load faster.
- Session: some features use a random session ID that is deleted when you close your browser.
- Login: when you log in, the wiki sets cookies that keep you logged in and remember your username. They last up to 30 days, or up to 180 days if you choose “Keep me logged in”.
- Editing: the editor remembers whether you last used the visual or the source editor, and keeps unpublished drafts in your browser so you don’t lose them.
None of this is used for tracking or advertising. It is necessary for functions you use, so it needs no consent.
Your wiki account
You log in to the wiki with your Fire Sword account on our login page at auth.fs-studios.com. The login page sets its own cookies to keep you logged in to your account. The first time you log in, the wiki creates its own account for you. From your Fire Sword account, the wiki receives your username, the name in your account and your email address, and stores them with the wiki account. Only your username is shown publicly. The wiki does not send emails.
Your wiki account also holds your preferences, your watchlist and your notifications. These are not public.
The legal basis is providing the account you asked for (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
Edits and talk pages
When you edit a page or write on a talk page, the wiki saves your username and the time with your edit. The page history, the list of recent changes and the list of your contributions show them publicly, for as long as the page exists. Comments on talk pages are signed with your username. The terms of service apply to everything you add. The legal basis is providing the wiki, which credits every edit to its author (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).
With each edit, the wiki also stores your IP address in its internal list of recent changes. It is not shown publicly. We use it to stop vandalism and abuse, and the wiki deletes it automatically after 90 days. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in protecting the wiki (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).
How long we keep wiki data
- Your account: as long as it exists. If you ask us to delete it, we remove your name and email address and rename the account, for example to “Renamed user 12”. Your edits and talk page comments stay in the page histories under the new name, because the pages are built from them.
- IP addresses with edits: 90 days.
- Backups: encrypted backups of the wiki are stored in the EU and kept for up to 18 months. Data we delete disappears from the backups when they expire.
Deleting your wiki account does not delete your Fire Sword account.
Links to other websites
We link to other websites, for example Steam, Discord, Patreon and our games at games.fs-studios.com. When you follow a link, the privacy policy of that website applies.
Your rights
Under the GDPR you have the right to:
- access the personal data we hold about you (Art. 15),
- have it corrected (Art. 16),
- have it deleted (Art. 17),
- restrict its processing (Art. 18),
- receive it in a portable format (Art. 20),
- object to processing based on our legitimate interest (Art. 21),
- withdraw your consent at any time, with effect for the future (Art. 7(3)).
To use these rights, for example to get a copy of your wiki account data or to have the account deleted, email contact@fs-studios.com. Because our statistics are anonymous, we usually cannot link them to you.
You also have the right to complain to a data protection authority. In Austria this is the Datenschutzbehörde (Austrian Data Protection Authority), Barichgasse 40–42, 1030 Vienna, Austria, dsb.gv.at. You can also contact the authority in the EU country where you live.
Changes to this policy
We update this policy when the website or the wiki changes, for example when we add a tool. The date at the top of this page shows the last change.
